Kara + Will are getting married next year at District Winery. (YAY for awesome new venues.)
And I cannot wait.

Western Sky Strategies | Creative Washington DC Headshot Photographer | DC Corporate Photographer

I don’t show most of what I do on the weekdays around here… but I would LOVE to shoot more headshots…
especially when they’re for really awesome folks like these guys over at Western Sky Strategies.
Washington DC is such a fun city for creative headshots because you can go from serious to a little more cool and fun in a heartbeat.
And I love that you can be uber-professional… but loosen it up just enough to be a little out of the ordinary.

Looking for something a little off the beaten path of the standard headshots? Shoot me an email!

It poured.
And I mean poured.
Meghan and Zach were supposed to be married outside.
In the gardens.
Surrounded by greenery.
The sky had other plans.

And sometimes that happens.
And it’s totally ok.

And sometimes just in time for portraits, it stops pouring and only drizzles and we all kind of just say “efffffff it” and take photos in the lightly falling rain.

Luckily when you have an indoor space, the botanical gardens staff, Sterling Meyers and Courtney Inghram on your side…
it winds up equally as magical.

Big thanks to Ashley for second shooting.

Considering Ryan and Kristine got MARRIED this past weekend, I guess I better start catching up on this blog.
This summer and fall have been so insanely crazy and there is so much goodness I need to get up on here.
(Including this DC engagement session of awesomeness.)

National Portrait Gallery + Drinks + Yards Park + a little trip the park they walk at in the evenings… and add to that the fact they are so fun and so happy and this session was one for the books.
I always love shooting engagement sessions in Washington DC. And this time we hit almost all of my favorite spots in one fell swoop.
(Well, actually… it was two sessions on the same day with another couple sandwiched between… high five for clients who add extra time into their sessions!)

Sometimes when you work for the Governor, he volunteers to marry you.
And to that you always say, “yes”.
On June 17th, surrounded by their closest friends and family, Meghan and Matt were married by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe at Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond.
We had just a little bit of rain… and WAY more love.
(So much love, in fact, they were literally surrounded by it… on all sides.)
And it couldn’t have been a better expression of their love for Virginia or for their love of each other.

Giant thanks to the newlywedded  Mr. Jeffrey Ocampo for second shooting.

I don’t even know where to begin with this one.
It’s too good for it’s own good.
Jeff and Paulyn know how to throw a wedding and throw a wedding right.
Just about 60 people. Everything RVA-inspired. Plenty of portrait time. Enamel pins as favors. Ice cream breaks.  Libby Hill Park AND Quirk Hotel.
AND the most kickass lineup of vendors around.
For real. No words. Just hundreds of my favorite photos.

BIG GIGANTIC HUGE thanks to Emma from Of Fate and Chaos for second shooting (since the groom just so happens to be my go-to second shooter in RVA).

Three events. Two Days. And just about 1,000,000 moments of happiness.
Sarah and Ankur married at Castle Hill Cider in Keswick, Virginia… actually, technically, they married twice.
One part Indian Wedding Ceremony… One part Western Family Ceremony… and TWO nights filled with  HUGE GIANT DANCE PARTIES.
I love a good dance party… and this was basically two solid days of dancing.
I could get used to being a Virginia Indian Wedding Photographer. Sign me up.

The Sangeet was held Saturday night before the wedding(s) at the Charlottesville Senior Center
and the Baarat, Indian Ceremony and Western Ceremony were all held on Sunday at my most favorite Castle Hill Cider.
Sarah and Ankur requested almost no portraits and really just wanted moments from the entire day… and despite the rain, I think we managed to do exactly that.
I really tried to NOT make this the world’s longest blog post… but it is three ceremonies worth of moments… so, no promises.

BIG GIANT HUGE THANKS TO Steve Dalgetty of the one and only An Endless Pursuit for coming out on Sunday and shooting all day with me on his day off.

Candice and Norman are getting hitched this fall in a big ole giant wedding in Richmond.
I’m talking awesome giant church and a kickass ballroom…
and I’m stoked to be a part of it.
We spent an afternoon in their home and around their favorite spots in Richmond.
